The Twitch app on the Amazon Fire TV is one of the best and cheapest ways to watch Twitch on your TV. Since the Fire TV is available from Amazon at a very competitive price, it has become one of the most popular ways to watch content like Netflix, Hulu, Prime TV and more. Since Amazon acquired Twitch, it only makes sense that they would offer There's a "newer" version of the Twitch app, which requires Fire OS 5.x. That has the ability to log in, see higher quality than 480p, among other improvements. The older model of Fire TV didn't get Fire OS 5.x until the end of Feburary this year, allowing it to use the newer Twitch app. I'm not sure about the Fire TV stick though. Load stream, play perfectly for 30 - 45 seconds, sudden stop, black screen for a second or two, kicked back to Fire TV stick home menu. I've written 2 emails to Twitch Support about it since they updated the app on March 22. Haven't gotten anything at all back in reply.
